Today’s blog is for you! Chances are if you’re reading this, you’ve already started the planning process for your big day. Amongst all the decisions to be made and prep to be completed, have you scheduled your engagement session yet?
E, why do we need an engagement session? Won’t we have all the pictures we want from our wedding day?
While it’s easy to cross an engagement session off of your to-do list in an attempt to make it just a bit shorter, I’m here to tell you that’s a mistake. The great news is I offer an engagement session with every one of my wedding packages (that’s how important I think they are!) so it’s a no-brainer to schedule one. However, if you’re on the fence, these are my Top 3 reasons for scheduling an engagement session with your Lehigh Valley wedding photographer.

I’ve said it a million times…the relationship between a couple and their photographer is an important one to develop before the wedding day. Your Lehigh Valley wedding photographer will be with you through every moment of your day from getting your make-up done to your final dance. She’s basically a member of your bridal party! Couples who are friendly and comfortable with their photographer are more natural in front of the camera, which ultimately produces more genuine reactions in photos. (Think the photos you take with your besties huddled around you versus the ones you posed in your grandma’s living room as a child…there’s a difference. Am I right?!?!). Lehigh Valley engagement sessions are an easy way to spend an hour developing that familiarity with your photographer that will translate into feeling like you’ve got another friend along with you who happens to be snapping away with a camera on your big day.

One of the reasons I include an engagement session in every one of my Lehigh Valley wedding packages is because it gives me an opportunity to show couples what it’s like to work with me on the day of their wedding. You might not be dressed in a tux and white gown but a lot of the poses and prompts I give my couples at the engagement session are similar, if not the same, as on the wedding day. With so much going on around you on the big day, it’s not to feel like you already know some of the things that are coming with your photographer.

Chances are you’re planning to send out save the date cards to your guests. What could be better than displaying a photo from your engagement session on your card? You’ll have plenty of images to choose from to design the perfect card and your loved ones will be excited to attend your wedding when they see how happy and in love you are in your photos.
